Steady rain Saturday for parts of Philadelphia region. Here's the weather forecast.
Plan on a cooler, wet, gray, and blustery weekend in the Philadelphia region. Umbrellas will be needed as well as contingency plans if you are going to be outdoors on Saturday, especially during the nighttime hours.
Spotty showers are possible through Saturday morning, with much-needed steady rain developing later in the afternoon and continuing into Sunday morning.
In addition, you'll likely need your light jacket as we're staying in the 50s for high temps, about 10 degrees below average. Plus, on Sunday we'll have clouds and breezy winds from the east and northeast gusting to 25 mph.
NEXT big weather changes
The NEXT big weather change will be a return to sunshine and temperatures in the upper 60s on Monday and even low 70s with partly cloudy skies on Tuesday.
That's followed by another round of much-needed rain Tuesday night through Thursday night.
Rain is much needed
Conditions have worsened and most of the Philadelphia area is in a moderate drought, but pockets of Chester, Berks and Lancaster counties are under what is considered severe drought.
There is over a foot deficit in rainfall since August, so any rain will be welcome.
