Health: New Recommendations For Protecting Babies From Whooping Cough

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – There are new recommendations to help protect newborns from whooping cough.

Infectious disease experts say whooping cough has reemerged in developing countries, putting babies and small children at risk.

Since infants are too young to get vaccinated, researchers are recommending all pregnant women get the whooping cough vaccine.

They also say that newborns' immediate family should get vaccinated.
