Hawks, Wildcats Fans Arrive in Buffalo for NCAA Tourney

By Ian Bush

BUFFALO, N.Y., (CBS) -- Their teams don't play until tomorrow (Thursday) night, but already Villanova and St. Joe's fans are arriving in Buffalo for the NCAA Tournament.

The few who came up a night early were treated to close courtside seats for practice sessions, not only for the Hawks and Wildcats, but also for the squads they'll take on -- UConn and Milwaukee -- in back to back games here at the First Niagara Center.

While the talk back home revolves around a potential Holy War, for Nova alum Gerry, it's first things first.

"An unbelievable year. Team played together, no stars, everybody's together. I think we got a good chance, getting out of here, getting out of Buffalo."

The nail-biting can wait until the whistle's blown. For now, it's a celebration of college hoops heroes, with kids taking selfies with players and the young at heart talking X's and O's with the likes of Coaches Wright and Martelli.

See St. Joe's vs. Connecticut on TBS Thursday at 6:55pm.

See Villanova vs. Milwaukee on TBS Thursday at 9:15pm.
