New Murals Dedicated To 2 Basketball Legends, Hank Gathers And Dawn Staley, At North Philadelphia Recreation Center

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Two new murals were dedicated in North Philadelphia Wednesday morning. The murals at 25th and Diamond Streets are part of a renovation of the Hank Gathers Recreation Center.

They're dedicated to Hank Gathers and Dawn Staley, two basketball legends who had a major impact on the city.

The center also has new backboards, rims, and a re-surfaced court.

The students who came out also got a book bag, a T-shirt and a basketball.
