Halloween Mask-wearing Suspects Charged With A Dozen Robberies In Delaware
WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) – Police in Delaware have arrested two men for a string of armed robberies in New Castle County.
Since Sept. 21, there have been a dozen robberies at various businesses in the area, including several Mexican restaurants, markets and gas stations.
In each incident, the two suspects would enter a business wearing Halloween masks and then display a black handgun and confront employees.
After receiving money, the suspects would flee the business into a waiting car.
On Oct. 28, police arrested 19-year-old Devin J. Holt, of Wilmington, and 37-year-old Scott M. McFarland, also of Wilmington, and charged them in connection with the robberies.
Holt is charged with Attempted Robbery 1st degree, 3 counts of Robbery 1st degree, one count of Robbery 2nd degree, 5 counts of Wearing a Disguise during the Commission of a Felony, and 3 counts of Conspiracy 2nd degree. He was committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution on $38,000.00 cash bond.
McFarland is facing charges of 3 counts of Robbery 1st degree, Robbery 2nd degree, 4 counts of Wearing a Disguise during the Commission of a Felony, and 3 counts of Conspiracy 2nd degree. He was also committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution on $31,000.00 cash bond.
There were no injuries reported during any of the robberies.
