Halftime: The Eagles Hold Commanding 20-0 Halftime Lead Over Giants

By Joseph Santoliquito

PHILADELPHIA, PA (CBS) — The Eagles easily played their best half of football this season in rolling to a 20-0 lead over the New York Giants before a national TV audience Sunday night at Lincoln Financial Field.

Anything the Eagles wanted to do they did in building a three-score lead. LeSean McCoy rushed for a season-best 85 yards on 12 carries, including two 18-yard runs. The defense was all over Eli Manning, sacking him five times (Connor Barwin and Vinny Curry with 2 sacks each, and Trent Cole with one).

The Eagles scored on four of their first seven possessions and held a 274-89 yardage edge. The Eagles had 15 first downs, and the Giants had just five, and crossed midfield just once in seven drives.

Nick Foles was 14 of 22 for 177 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. He threw two bad passes. He floated one to Riley Cooper early in the second quarter and tossed an interception to Antrel Rolle at the Giants' 16.

Where was this team the first five games of the season?
