Gunman Knocks Out Hotel Clerk During Robbery In Hershey

HERSHEY, Pa. (AP) — Police are searching for a gunman who reportedly knocked out a central Pennsylvania hotel clerk with the butt end of an assault rifle during a robbery.

State police from Harrisburg say the unknown suspect walked into the Quality Inn and Suites Hershey in South Hanover Township about 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

After repeatedly telling the female clerk "Don't be a hero," the man died her up using bed sheets before hitting her twice in the head with the gun. The woman told police she called 911 when she regained consciousness.

Police say the suspect stole about $200 plus tickets to Hersheypark, a nearby amusement park, before fleeing.

Police say the clerk was treated and released for two head wounds at Hershey Medical Center.
