Grow Your Gardening Skills At The Barnes Arboretum

By Phran Novelli

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Each week, more and more of our local gardens and arboretums are flinging open their gates to welcome you back in. The Barnes Arboretum, a lovely spot in Merion, PA, is open to members as of Friday, April 24 (so you can join now and get in soonest), or wait until everyone is welcome on Friday, May 1.

Then, their annual plant sale is coming up on Saturday,
May 2. This is always a special sale with unique plants and smart helpers on hand to answer your questions.

The Barnes Arboretum is also where I went to school to learn much more about plants than I could on my own. They have year-long classes, short courses and even one-day workshops where you can learn all kinds of good gardening stuff - such as how to pot up your planters in a much more spectacular way and you'll take home your masterpiece pot at the end of the day.

Consider a quick class to get you over your fears of growing roses. Or a fern class examining their extensive collection.
