Grow A Garden That Plants Itself

By Phran Novelli

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Ahhh….a garden that plants itself. If that sounds good to you too, head to the Mt. Cuba Center in Hockessin, Delaware this Saturday for a short course about the 'Self-Proliferating Garden.'

In the first of two classes, Larry Weaner will teach you how to create a landscape where Nature does much of the planting for you by capitalizing on the way plants naturally reproduce and actively encourage more of the plants you want to grow where you want them.

Through detailed case studies, you'll see how this concept can work in either a tiny garden or a landscape of many acres.

Each class is $35. This Saturday's course starts at 1:30 and will focus on the key concepts you need to know, including plant selection, spacing, seeding, and strategies for helping the plants multiply.

You can register at MuseumTix.com.

A second class at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, January 20th will help you learn to manage the plants and influence the seed bank. Register at MuseumTix.com/tickets.
