Governor Wolf Calls For Investigation Into PPA Amid Sexual Harassment Scandal
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- In light of recent sexual harassment allegations within the Philadelphia Parking Authority, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf is calling for an investigation into the agency.
This past week, former PPA Executive Director Vince Fenerty resigned from his position amid sexual harassment allegations.
In a letter to state Attorney General Bruce Beemer, Wolf called the PPA "uniquely opaque" and said "it was established without significant oversight." The state controls the agency, and the city wants to regain power over its own parking.
In the letter, Wolf writes "In light of the serious allegations of misconduct and poor oversight, I believe it would be appropriate for a thorough examination of the financial dealings and practices of the authority to be conducted as soon as possible."
Beemer was nominated by Wolf in August, after elected Attorney General Kathleen Kane resigned.
