Atlantic City To Receive Millions To Help Laid-off Casino Workers

By Cleve Bryan

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS) — New Jersey's Congressional delegation announced today that Atlantic City could receive up to $29.4 million in emergency grants to help the oppressed work force.

The grant through the U.S. Department of Labor is meant to help casino workers impacted by last year's four casino closings.

According to a news release the money will be allocated through the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development to "fund employer-driven training programs and help affected workers learn new skills for reemployment in new and emerging job sectors."
