Gov. Wolf Thanks Medical Marijuana Supporters

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Governor Tom Wolf paid a visit to King of Prussia on Tuesday to thank supporters for their work in getting medical marijuana legislation passed.

Governor Tom Wolf says state senator Daylin Leach was key in getting legislation that he says will help people's lives.

But Senator Leach says the legislation isn't the end of the process, but just the beginning:

"Now we have a process where we have to craft regulations, implement those regulations, we have to get this industry up and running and we have to get this medicine to people who need it," he said.

Among the challenges, Leach says, while patients will be able to get medical marijuana sometime over the next two years, it will have to be paid for out of pocket and is not covered by insurance plans.
