Gov. Christie Says Sen. Cruz's Annoucement Won't Affect His Own Decision

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- After Texas senator Ted Cruz officially announced his candidacy for President in 2016, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie answered questions in a radio interview Monday about the possibility of him running for the office as well.

So when does Christie plan on making decision if he's going to run or not?

"Like I said before, late spring early summer," Christie said, adding that he's not going to let Sen. Cruz's decision expedite his.

Christie says he's still weighing the pros and cons of running for President.

"There are still things I'm working through and talking to my family about," he said.

Christie says his daughter, a freshman at the University of Notre Dame, is not excited about the prospect of having Secret Service protection with her while in school, but he joked that having the Secret Service with your daughter while she is in college is every father's dream.
