Watch: Claude Giroux's Filthy Shootout Goal

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Claude Giroux scored the only goal in the shootout to lift the Philadelphia Flyers to a 3-2 win over the New York Islanders on Thursday night.

It was a filthy goal.

However, Giroux failed to record at least one point for the first time in 10 games. Giroux has two goals and 11 assists this season for 13 points, which ties him for second in scoring in the NHL. His 11 assists leads the league.

Travis Konecny scored his second goal of the season and Matt Read scored his sixth for the Flyers, who improved to 6-5-1 with their third straight victory. Read's goal came with under a minute left in regulation, as the Flyers forced overtime late in the game for the second consecutive game.

The Flyers outshot the Islanders 42-27 for the game and Michal Neuvirth made 25 saves.
