Girl shot in Morris Park in Overbrook section of Philadelphia, police say

A girl was taken to the hospital after she was shot in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia Sunday evening, police said. 

The shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. in the creek in Morris Park near the 1100 block of North 68th Street, police said. 

Medics transported the girl to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, according to police. 

Philadelphia police are investigating the shooting.
