Gas Prices Show Little Movement In New Jersey, Across Nation

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Gas prices have shown little movement over the last week in New Jersey and across the nation but remain far below the levels seen a year ago. AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in New Jersey on Friday was $2.17, down a penny from the week before.

Drivers were paying $2.76 a gallon at this time last year.

The national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline was $2.18, unchanged from the previous week. The national average was $2.69 at this time a year ago.

Analysts say this summer is "no doubt the cheapest at the pump for motorists in more than a decade," and prices aren't expected to spike for the rest of the month — especially amid increases in COVID-19 cases.
