CHERRY HILL, NJ. (CBS) -- A prominent Indian holiday was celebrated this weekend at the Garden State Discovery Museum.

The Garden State Discovery Museum celebrated "Holi," the Indian festival of colors:

"It is one of the very important holidays after Diwali," says yoga teacher and Bollywood dancer Ritu Pandya. "So Diwali and Holi are the two important holidays. It is like Christmas for Indians."

Pandya says Holi is a celebration of spring. As part of the fun, she led children in traditional Indian dancing:

"Oh my God! In India, I remember my childhood! We were ready in the morning wearing white clothes, I'm getting ready for face to be all colored yellow, red, green, purple," she says. "It was just so much fun, and later on after we had the color play, we'd go back and get a nice shower and celebrate Holi eating nice sweets and food."
