Funeral Held For 8-Year-Old Camden Girl Killed By Stray Bullet

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — Funeral services have been held for an 8-year-old Camden girl killed last month when she was hit in the head by a stray bullet.

Dozens of mourners filled the Faith Holy Temple Church of God in Christ on Saturday to mourn Gabrielle "Gabby" Hill Carter. She was wounded when gunfire erupted near her home Aug. 24, and family members announced two days later that she had died from her injuries.

Authorities have said the girl was hit by a stray bullet when several men opened fire on an intended target. The men then jumped into a car and fled.

Surveillance video is still being reviewed. No arrests have been made.

Authorities are offering a reward of more than $76,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of her killer.
