Fundraising Page Set Up For Officer Hartnett
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Here's your chance to help the Philadelphia Police officer who was ambushed and shot in the line of duty Thursday night in West Philly.
A GoFundMe page has been created to help cover any additional expenses while Officer Jesse Hartnett continues to recover.
He was shot three times and suffered a broken arm. Police Commissioner Richard Ross says he has a long road to recovery.
So the fundraiser was set up by the family of one of Officer Hartnett's Coast Guard shipmates. The goal was to raise $15,000. Over half of that was raised in the first 24 hours alone.
The page says all funds will be given to the officer's family.
