Free Sensory Journey Through Arts and Sciences Offered On Eakins Oval

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - One of the world's largest building materials manufacturers is celebrating its 350th birthday with a globe traveling exhibition that invites the public to experience the past and future of arts and science through a sensory journey.
Saint-Gobain's "Future Sensations" exhibit at Eakins Oval features five pavilions with each focusing on a sensory experience like sight and sounds.
Wendell had just walked out of the "A Reflection in Progress" exhibit:
"Dark cube with a bunch of light dancing in there with a pictures, and it was all kind of synced together," he tells KYW Newsradio.
Christine and her young daughter had just left a pavilion designed to look like a perpetual stairwell that featured a laser light show inside...
"It's really obvious that they're trying to connect the eras of the 350 years and it's pretty cool."
JD and John had just finished up all of the exhibits and were just happy to be out and about:
"Beautiful day, and definitely interesting. And free, you can't go wrong."
Dina Pokedoff of Saint-Gobain says the main goal is to give the public a good time:
"It's free and open to the public. Come experience the pavilions, but stay and have a beer at our beer garden that we're hosting in conjunction with our partners at the Fairmount Park conservancy, have a bite to eat at one of the food trucks."
"Future Sensations" will run through June 6th. Philadelphia is one of four cities across the globe to host the event. The others are Shanghai, Sao Paulo and Paris.
