Free Pretzels Offered For National Pretzel Day

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Anywhere else and you may not know that Saturday is National Pretzel Day.

But this is Philadelphia. Nowhere on the planet is there more passion for knotted, salted dough.

To celebrate, The Philly Pretzel Factory is giving away one free pretzel to every customer who visits any of their locations.

Owner and founder Dan DaZio says it's a way to give back.

"We're really thankful to everybody," he said. "They supported us from day one."

DaZio says they'll make more than 30,000 pretzels just at one location and are set to sell more than a million between all stores.

Giving back to a community that runs in pretzels is not exactly the hardest thing to do.

For the dozens of people from all walks of life ordering the delicacy before sunrise - it's always pretzel day in Philadelphia.
