Free Conference Saturday For People With MS And Their Caregivers

By John Ostapkovich

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - People with multiple sclerosis and their caregivers can sign up for a free, one-day conference in Center City Saturday.

The "One Day Can Make a Difference" conference here is one of two being sponsored on April 5th by drug firm Genzyme. New Jersey neurologist Amos Katz says each person with MS has a unique story and symptoms, so it's important to understand context.

"The first thing is, obviously, to get knowledge about the disease and the treatments that are available," Katz said. "I'll be talking about the background of MS and there's another physician who's an expert in MS will talk about the treatment options that are available."

One of which is made by the conference sponsor. There will also be an MS health fair to explore a range of options. Although the conference from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday is free, there's a link to required pre-registration at https://www.aubagio.com/everyday
