Four Men Develop Nail Polish That Can Detect Date Rape Drugs In Drinks

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A team of four men have come up with a unique product that detects date rape drugs in spiked drinks.

They have developed a nail polish that changes color when it is in the presence of a date rape drugs, such as Rohypnol, Xanax and GHB.

When wearing the nail polish, females can discreetly stir their drink with their painted finger and if the polish changes color, they will know something is wrong with their drink.

The developers call their company "Undercover Colors" and they say they are the first fashion company empowering women to prevent sexual assault.

Paula Evans says, "So sad our society makes this necessary, but what a great product - kudos to those male students who are thinking outside the box."

Ola Pennington adds, "I would buy one in every color for all of my neices! It is sad that this is necessary, but a wonderful invention!"

The four students are raising money to continue building the product.
