Former Church Organist Sentenced To 20 Years In Prison For Sexually Assaulting Juveniles

WINSLOW, NJ (CBS) – Authorities say a New Jersey man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexually assaulting several boys.

Officials say 73-year-old Joseph E. Cuthbert, of Winslow, will be required to serve at least 17 years of his prison term before becoming
eligible for parole.

Authorities say he pleaded guilty in June to three counts of 1st degree aggravated sexual assault and one count of 3rd degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Officials say Cuthbert came into contact with the victims, four boys, through his role as a church organist.

The crimes occurred between November 2002 and December 2013, authorities say.
