Food Truck Review: No. 31
SWEET LAVENDER
Well, when we hit up this dessert pastry truck at the Manayunk Streat Festival in early April it was late afternoon, and they were already sold out of every item on the menu except two.
So we ordered an oatmeal cookie. Meh. Not terrible, certainly not special. Really, nothing better than we could pull off the shelf at the Acme.
Worse was the strawberry shortcake in a jar. The "jar" was not much larger than a shot glass, and the cost was $7. Are you kidding me? It consisted of a microscopic bit of strawberry, and handful of dice-sized sponges of shortcake and a bit of cream. What a rip off.
This item tasted so-so and cost twice as much as it should have. I guess I should be happy the let me keep the jar.
Score: 63/100
