Flyers Sign Defenseman T.J. Brennan

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Flyers have signed defenseman T.J. Brennan to a multi-year contract, the team announced on Tuesday.

Brennan, 27, was the 31st overall pick of the Buffalo Sabres in 2009. He spent the previous one and a half seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs American Hockey League affiliate, the Toronto Marlies. He played in seven games for the Maple Leafs over the past two seasons.

The 6-1, 213-pound defenseman and Moorestown, New Jersey native won the Eddie Shore Award as the AHL's best defenseman for the second time in his career, becoming only the seventh player in AHL history to win the award multiple times.
