Flyers Help Make Wishes Come True For Some Very Special Children

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)  --   This isn't just any night at the Flyers game. It's a where dreams are coming true for some very special guests.

"We're going to be high fiving in the ice," Jacob Hackman told Eyewitness News.

This is the high five crew, part of a group of 14 kids with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

They get to high five the players as they head out onto the ice.

For 8-year-old Gianna Davison, it's one night where her life threatening illness doesn't take center stage.

"She was born with half a heart. She had already had several open heart surgeries by the time she was 2 1/2 years old," Gianna's father said.

Gianna said she's "very excited" about tonight.

In one of three wish suites for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, children and their families are just one part of the VIP experience at the Flyers game.

Despite who wins or loses the hockey game, the Flyers are making sure the real winners on this night are some very special kids.

"Words can't describe it to see them interacting doing things they normally would never be able to do it's phenomenal," father Richard Hackman said.
