Flyers Announce Public Celebration Of Ed Snider's Life

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia lost one of the most influential figured of its sports landscape with the passing of Ed Snider.

On Wednesday, the Flyers, the team Philadelphia fans are grateful to Snider for, announced a public celebration to be held to honor the life of Snider.

The event will take place on April 21 at the Wells Fargo Center. Comcast Spectacor, the Flyers and the Snider Family are inviting fans and friends to come together on this day to celebrate a man who helped to shape what we know today as Philadelphia sports culture.

The event is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. and is free to the public. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m.
