Flooding Concerns Rise As Storm Moves Closer

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A FLOOD WATCH will continue into early Thursday.
There is potential for 2-4 inches of rain in the Watch Area. Flood guidance, which indicates the amount of rain needed to flood, is around 2.5-3.5" in 12 hours. So it is possible for some small creek and stream flooding, especially in locations where heavy rain develops.

Ponding will occur on area roads, so please take it slow during the morning and evening commute.
Showers will linger Thursday, then in the wake of a cold front, the rain will end.
Temperatures Wednesday with be chilly (50s) with a gusty east wind, 30 miles-an-hour. A warm front will move through late Wednesday, bringing in mild air with heavy rainanda chance of a thunderstorm. Temperatures will rise through the 60s Wednesday night with southerly winds.
The weather will improve Thursday with a mild start to May. Expect some showers around, some sunshine is possible in the afternoon with highs well above average, in the 70s.
Seasonable temperatures, in the 60s, return for Friday and into the weekend.
