Like much of the country the best time of year to be in the city of brotherly love is the fall… but for a very different reason. I'll give you a hint; it starts with "October" and ends with "fest". As they are repped by one of the most famous bars on TV (hint #2: Paddy's Pub) Phlipadelphian's obviously know how to celebrate Octoberfest- aka Bloktoberfest.

Join the South of South Neighborhood Association, South Street West Business Association and Bella Vista Beer Distributors as they take over 4 blocks on South street, to celebrate the cities sixth annual Bloktoberfest on Saturday, October 11th.
From noon to 8pm you will be able to sample a supa wide selection of craft brews from around the country. And, the more you drink, the more you help your hood, as the beer proceeds go back into an assortment of local initiatives addressing education, green space and public safety. So go cray. There are several different types of beer bracelets you can choose from: for $15 online or $20 (cash) day of, you can receive a bracelet worth 3 drink tickets (one ticket for one beer); or, go for a Bonus Beer Bracelet and pay $25 online/$30 (cash) day of, to get 5 drink tickets.

If you feel a bit tipsy off the 12 oz. beers, just head over to one of the many great food trucks and vendors, including local favorites like Jamaican Jerk Hut, Rex 1516, Magpie and The Quick Fixx.
When you spend all your money on booze and food, you can still enjoy yourself with some free tunes. Shake it fast at one of the multiple music stages, featuring nationally recognized and emerging local acts.
With an event like this you'll wish it was October all the time.
