Fletcher Cox Ranked 10th Best Defensive Player

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- His numbers are far from gaudy. However, if you watch him play week-after-week, like we do in Philadelphia, you understand the impact Eagles defensive lineman Fletcher Cox has on a football game.

Cox is finally starting to get national recognition for his Pro Bowl type season.

NFL.com writer Chris Wesseling ranked his top ten NFL defensive players and Cox was 10th on his list. Furthermore, Wesseling said other than Texans lineman J.J. Watt, Cox has been the most complete defensive lineman since the mid-way point.

"We noted on a recent edition of the Around The NFL Podcast that Cox has been one of the three or four most dominant defensive players in the league over the past month," Wesseling wrote. "He and Watt have been the NFL's most complete defensive lineman in the second half of the season."

Watt was ranked No. 1 on Wesseling's list. Justin Houston, Von Miller, and Richard Sherman round out the top four.
