Fletcher Cox Fined By NFL For Hit

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Fletcher Cox said on Friday that he has been fined $16,537 by the NFL on Friday for a hit during Week 1's game against the Jaguars. However, it isn't the hit that most people might have expected.

Cox was called for penalty following a horse collar tackle in the first half. The penalty did not appear to fall exactly under the umbrella of a horse collar tackle after replays were shown.

Cox says that the fine was related to a hit late in the game that he delivered to Jaguars quarterback Chad Henne. A flag was not thrown on the play. Cox intends to appeal the fine.

The Eagles defensive end indicated that he feels like the hit in question was clean.
