Five Shows Still Left To See This February In Philadelphia

By Michael Cerio

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Half way through February with Bruce Springsteen in the rearview mirror, you might think that you missed out on all of the musical memories this month has to offer. False. Pack that FOMO away for St. Patrick's Day, it's a leap year and there's plenty of room to get weird.

Here are five shows you should check out before you drop down and get your lion on for March.

Friday, February 19th – St. Lucia at The TLA

Make America dance again. Jean-Philip Grobler and his power pop snyth band St. Lucia are doing their part to help. The band released Matter three weeks ago, so they have a new batch of slick 80's informed gyrating gems to lay on you. It's a Duran Duran reincarnated dance party on South Street.

Sunday, February 21st – Josh Ritter at Union Transfer

Considered one of the greatest singer-songwriters in the business, Josh Ritter has turned his gaze outward on his latest Sermon On The Rocks, and it sounds like he's having fun. After the stellar divorce post script that was his 2013 album Beast In Its Tracks, Ritter is cutting loose of late with small town portraits and a new energy that fits nicely in his catalog of inspired storytelling.

Monday, February 22nd – Carrie Underwood at Wells Fargo Center

They're all good seats for Country's Queen as Carrie Underwood performs "in the round" for the first time at Wells Fargo Center this month. Off the spurred heels of last year's Storyteller and this week's Grammys, Underwood brings twenty-plus hits and her renegade spirt to Philadelphia.

Saturday, February 27th – The Weeks at Milkboy

Southern rock from the mighty Mississippi with some indie edges – that's the sound of The Weeks. With an electric live show and an arsenal of southern-fried riffs, Milkboy on Chestnut Street in Center City makes the perfect scene to clutch a cheap can and watch these gentlemen go to work.

Sunday, February 28th – Future at The Fillmore

Check the charts, Future is having a real big year, with some really big albums. The Atlanta singer and rapper has hit number one on the album chart three times in the past seven months. Only Glee Soundtracks and Herb Alpert do that kind of damage. He brings his latest EVOL and The Purple Reign Tour to The Fillmore to close out February, with Ty Dolla $ign along for the ride. It's a sold out show, so come with the commas if you want to go.
