Five Prop Bet Locks For Panthers vs. Eagles

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- A "prop bet lock" is kind of an oxymoron, since that doesn't exist. Prop bets are like flipping a coin, but hey, they're fun. I just tried to lure you in with the title. I guess it worked.

Here are five prop bet winners, I think, for tonight's Panthers at Eagles Monday Night Football. Lines via Bovada LV.

[Note: I picked the props I thought would go over, because no one enjoys picking the under]

5. Total Interceptions - Cam Newton 1/2

over (-175)
under (+145)

The Eagles' defense has recorded a takeaway in 21 straight games, the longest takeaway streak of theirs kind since 1995. Eagles will get pressure on Cam and I think at least one interception is a safe play.

4. Total receiving yards - Kelvin Benjamin 67.5

over (-125)
under (-105)

Good, play-making wide receivers just torch the Eagles. In fact, the Eagles give up 256 passing yards per game, 23rd in the NFL. Kelvin Benjamin, the Panthers' rookie wideout, is a target monster and a monster target, for that matter. He's never had less than six targets in a game and only has less than eight targets twice. He's going to have a big game.

3. Total completions - Mark Sanchez 22.5

over (-115)
under (-115)

This one is a lock. 23 completions for Sanchez? Easy. The Eagles run 70 plays per game. Screens, dump offs, oh yeah, no-brainer. Sanchez has 23 completions by accident.

over (-125)
under (-105)

EIGHT rushing yards?! One play. One simple read option that Sanchez decides to keep and it's over. Lock it down, over 7.5 rushing yards for the Sanchize.

1. Everything - Jordan Matthews 3.5/40.5/yes

PHILADELPHIA, PA - SEPTEMBER 21: Jordan Matthews #81 of the Philadelphia Eagles makes a catch for a first down against the E.J. I'm going over 3.5 catches, over 40.5 receiving yards, and YES Matthews scores a touchdown tonight. Sanchez and Matthews have a connection. Sanchez likes the seam route, the slot guy. I don't know why, he just does. Matthews scored last week when Sanchez came in and they clicked all preseason long. It's just one of those things.

*Bonus: Eagles -4 first half line

Monday Night Football. You know Chip is going to come out fast. Eagles get ahead early.
