Five Injured In Early Morning Crash

MILFORD, DE (CBS) --- Police are investigating an early morning crash that injured five people in Milford, Delaware.

Around 2:45am on Saturday morning, a late 90s Buick traveling southbound on Canterbury Road went through a red light and struck the passenger side of a Nissan Altima that was traveling eastbound on Milford Harrington Highway, according to police.

The driver of the Buick, identified as Michael Walker, 29, was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. He was taken from the car by medical personnel and transported to Milford Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police have cited Walker for vehicular assault and driving under the influence of alcohol.

There was one other passenger in the Buick and three people in the Altima that was struck in the accident. Police say all passengers were wearing seatbelts and received medical attention at Milford Memorial for non-life threatening injuries.

The crash is currently under investigation.
