6 Homes Evacuated In Fishtown After Large Sinkhole Opens Up

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Fire Department evacuated residences in the Fishtown section of the city due to a sinkhole.

Six homes along the 2200 block of Taggert Street were evacuated on Friday after a large sinkhole opened up.

The Red Paw Relief Team posted a picture on Twitter showing the sinkhole swallowing up part of the sidewalk and a portion of the block.

The sinkhole measures 30 feet by 30 feet and officials are concerned it could be growing.

Crews are working to repair it.

No one was injured.
