First Ever Irish Festival Set To Kick Off In Headhouse Square

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The first ever Irish Festival takes place Sunday in Headhouse Square.
Patrick Pawliczek, owner of Cavanaugh's Headhouse Restaurant, says the outdoor festival takes place by the Headhouse Shambles from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., partially coinciding with the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade that takes place along the Parkway.
"We are going to have the Mark Monaghan Band, and they'll be playing Irish tunes," Pawliczek says. "Then also the 2nd Street Pfieffer Drum Corps will be coming through. They are scheduled to march in the parade so we're not exactly sure what time they'll get here, but we anticipate them in full costume, in full step and then we also have a couple of groups of Irish step dancers coming through, as well."
And, of course, there will also be Irish food and drink.
"Lamb stew, shephard's pie, bangers and mash," Pawliczek says, "and then we'll be serving Guinness beer as well as Jamison and Two Gingers and all the good stuff."
