Firefighter Injured Battling House Fire In South Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A firefighter was hospitalized after battling a house fire overnight in South Philadelphia.

Flames broke out 1 a.m. Monday inside a row home in the 2300 block of Moore Street near 23rd Street in the Point Breeze section of the city.

Authorities say the fire was contained to one home and the residents got out safely.

The blaze was placed under control in 15 minutes.

Officials say a firefighter was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and treated for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
