Fire Rips Through Sports Bar, Spreads To Two Vacant Homes In Kensington

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A fast-moving fire quickly spread from one building to two others overnight in Kensington.

The blaze broke out around 3:30 a.m. Saturday along the 3000 block of Kensington Avenue.

Official say the fire started on the first floor of the Sol Caribe Sports Bar which was under construction and then spread to two adjoining vacant apartments.

The fire caused the roof of the building to collapse, but fortunately there was no one inside at the time.

Fire crews were able to place the blaze under control in about 40 minutes.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was being investigated.
