Suspect In Custody After Officials Rule Blaze At Super 8 Motel In Delaware An Arson

NEW CASTLE COUNTY, Del. (CBS) — Officials rule a fire that ripped through a motel in Newark, Delaware an arson. Police have charged 44-year-old Larry E. O'Neal of Wilmington with arson and reckless endangering, both felonies.

Officials say O'Neal intentionally ignited items inside a room on the second floor of the Super 8 Motel on the 200 block of East Main Street.

The fire happened just before 11 p.m. Friday.

One man was rushed to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

There is some water damage to surrounding rooms.

Occupants were evacuated, but are now back inside.

O'Neal is waiting arraignment.
