Christmas Day Fire Destroys Mobile Home, Kills 6 Pets In Toms River

TOMS RIVER, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say six pets were killed when a fast-moving Christmas Day fire destroyed a mobile home in southern New Jersey.

Toms River officials say the fire on Camino Rio in the Friendly Village Mobile Home Park was reported around 6:35 p.m. When firefighters arrived on scene a short time later, the unit was already engulfed in flames.

No one was in the unit when the fire occurred. But the owner's dog, cat and four parrots died in the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
