Fire Crews Battle Two-Alarm Blaze At The Addison At English Village Apartments In Montgomery County

NORTH WALES, Pa. (CBS) -- Firefighters are battling a two-alarm apartment fire in North Wales, Montgomery County. Firefighters arrived at The Addison at English Village Apartments on Lower State Road shortly before 6 a.m Friday and began rescuing people from the building.

Two people were rescued by ladder from the third floor and two people were taken to the hospital for evaluation.

"I heard the building fire alarms go off, mind you, today is alarm testing day. So I started running to the door but I was like 'let me check the phone,' because of the testing, but it was 5:30 in the morning. I went to get my sister and said we have to get the dog and we have to leave. That's when I heard upstairs neighbor saying 'fire,'" said Erianna Mcgruder.

In all, five apartments were damaged.

There is no word on what sparked the fire.
