6 families displaced after fire in Bristol Borough, Pennsylvania

Firefighters battled a two-alarm fire that damaged multiple homes near a high school in Bristol Borough, Bucks County, on Friday.

The fire broke out shortly after 9:30 a.m. in the 300 block of Garfield Street in Bristol Borough, across from Bristol Jr-Sr High School, Bristol Borough Fire Chief Herb Slack said.

Chopper 3 was over the scene, showing a large number of firefighters on roofs and others battling the blaze from the ground to get it under control.

Slack said the fire heavily damaged three of the homes.

The American Red Cross is assisting six families and 13 people impacted by the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
