Fire Breaks Out Inside Northeast Philly Church

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire at a church in Northeast Philadelphia early Friday morning.

The fire started at about 1:15 a.m. at the Holy Innocents St. Paul's Episcopal Church in the 7000 block of Torresdale Avenue at Tyson Avenue.

According to fire officials, firefighters were called to the church for the reports of smoke. When they arrived, firefighters encountered smoke and attempted to discover the source of the smoke.

Officials said the fire was located in the walls of the church.

The fire was placed under control at about 2:30 a.m.

There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
