Fire Breaks Out In Abandoned Day Care Center In East Oak Lane

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Firefighters responded to the scene of an overnight blaze in Philadelphia's East Oak Lane neighborhood.

The fire broke out around 3 a.m. in an unoccupied storefront at Provident Road and Wadsworth Avenue.

The building has reportedly been vacant for about two years, but it had previously been the Smart Start day care.

No injuries or transports were reported, and the fire was placed under control around 3:24 a.m.

That fire is under investigation.
