Fatal SEPTA Collision In North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) Police are investigating a fatal van and SEPTA trolley bus accident in North Philadelphia Monday evening.

Authorities say this happened at Penn and Arrott streets around 7:15 p.m.

Both the vehicle and SEPTA trolley bus were traveling westbound on Arrott Street when the trolley bus slowed down and stopped at the stop sign on Penn Street.

The vehicle then slammed into the rear end of the trolley. The driver of the van was pronounced dead  shortly after.

Authorities say there were 12 passengers on the SEPTA trolley bus, all passenger including the driver requested medical attention.
