Police ID Man Killed In One-Crash Along Route 55 In Vineland

VINELAND, N.J. (CBS) -- Police are investigating a fatal car crash that shutdown a heavily-traveled road in South Jersey for several hours Friday morning.

The one-car crash happened shortly before 6 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Route 55 in Vineland.

Chopper 3 HD was over the scene shortly after the crash where it showed a white sedan on the shoulder of the road with serious damage.

Investigators said 23-year-old Andrew Waugh, of Villas, New Jersey, was killed in the crash. A passenger, 27-year-old Jessica Waugh, also of the Villas, was injured in the crash. Her exact condition was not immediately known.

As a result of the crash, the southbound lanes were shut down for several hours, but they have since reopened.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
