Fans Hit Villanova Bookstore To Get Final Four Gear

By Mike DeNardo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Villanova basketball team doesn't leave for the Final Four until tomorrow, but plenty of Nova merchandise is already leaving the campus store.

There is a steady line at the registers in the Villanova University Shop on campus. Store manager Ryan Snyder says everyone wants Final Four gear.

"It's a little stressful because there's a lot of people in here and people are looking for items that we may not necessarily have yet."

Snyder says Final Four t-shirts, hats and pint glasses should arrive by mid-afternoon.

1998 grad Michele McCarthy, of Laurel Springs, was back on campus looking for Final Four swag.

"I just love this school. I've always been a basketball fan. We're very excited that they made it to the Final Four, because I hear a lot from people about how they don't do well in this tournament. So I'm so excited they're playing their best basketball ever."

DeNardo: "Ready to party like it's 1985?"

"Oh, yes I am!"

Patti Martin, of Woolwich Township, arrived at the campus store before the Final Four merch arrived. But she says that's okay.

"We actually just found a really great shirt that says 'Party like it's 1985.' We're going right there.'"

Kim Keszeli, of Glen Mills, mom to a Nova freshman, is outfitting her entire family.

"I bought this shirt yesterday."

"We are Nova."

"Yes! And we bought the 'We Are Nova' shirt today in short sleeve and we're looking for the Final Four shirts."

A confident Kim says after Nova wins it all, she'll be back to buy those championship shirts.
