Fans, Critics Real And Fake Roast Terrell Owens

By Justin Udo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - On Thursday night hundreds packed into the Crystal Tea Room in downtown Philadelphia to witness the roast of former Philadelphia Eagle Terrell Owens. The night was filled with jokes, toasts and lots of laughs with part of the proceeds going to a good cause.

The roasters included everyone from former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell to a cardboard cut-out of Donovan McNabb.

Ike Reese, one of Owens' former Eagles teammates also got in on the fun.

"It's one of the rare opportunities we've had since he left here to really tell him what he meant to us as teammates and really honor him to a certain degree."

And the fans who were on hand had multiple reasons why they came out:

"I want him to man up for that commercial, the fans didn't hate him. The fans loved him."

"I'm here for a good time, and I am a fan of Terrell Owens."

"It's pretty cool, it's a nice event, a lot of pretty girls and all that stuff."

Part of the proceeds from the event are going to Mary Kate's Legacy Foundation, an organization that helps families with special needs children, as well as All Hands Working Foundation, an organization that helps with firefighter health and wellness.
