Fancy Brigades Compete At Finale Shows On New Year's Day

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Fancy Brigade Finale show is an extension of the Mummers Parade, but indoors at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Eleven clubs decked out in elaborate costumes compete in the Fancy Brigade finale shows. Each get four and a half minutes to perform their high energy choreographed theatrical routines to the amazement of the crowd.

"There is always something new."

"It's the best ticket in town for the show. Everybody is nice, its family oriented you see the creativity that is being presented for the day."

More than 2,500 mummers participate in this New Year's Day tradition each year, among them two, even three generations taking part.
